7-Hour USPAP Compliance Rule Change in Kentucky
A decision was finalized recently by the Kentucky Real Estate Appraisers Board (KREAB) regarding when 7hr USPAP can be taken to comply with Kentucky regulations.
Kentucky license holders must take 7hr USPAP between January 1st – May 31st of the release year. Historically, Kentucky license holders have been able to take the class as soon as it was released…typically November and December before the effective date of January 1 the following year.
The KREAB position now is that to be in compliance, license holders must complete the class no sooner than January 1. This means that if a Kentucky license holder takes 7hr USPAP prior to January 1, they must take the class again, after January 1, within six months, to be in compliance. As a result, our offerings of 7hr USPAP will not begin until after January 1, 2024.
